It’s the beginning of August already – which can only mean one thing – time for your monthly real estate market update! Each month, we take to this blog to share highlights from the latest press release from the Lancaster County Association of Realtors (LCAR). Here’s what they’ve shared this month:
- 643 homes sold in June 2016, an 11.1% increase from 2015
- 564 homes went under contract in June 2016, a 7.4% increase from 2015
- 862 new listings in June 2016, a .8% decrease from 2015
- Average sales price in June 2016 was $211,002, a 3.4% increase from 2015
“We are experiencing a highly competitive market right now with multiple offer situations being very common,” said LCAR president Lynn Zimmerman. “Someone who wants to sell their home could not ask for a more ideal opportunity . . . if a home is in good shape and priced right, it will move quickly.”
