Another month has come and gone, which can only mean one thing for our blog. Time for another Lancaster County real estate market update! We continue to see numbers growing throughout the region. Here’s a snapshot of the information provided in the latest press release from the Lancaster County Association of Realtors:
- 574 homes sold in September, 8.3% increase from 2015
- 664 new listings in September, 11% increase from 2015
- 523 homes went under contract in September, 2.1% increase from 2015
- Average sales price for September was $196,367
- The average sales price for the third quarter was a record breaking $206,736
“For each month in 2016, we have broken the sales set for that same month in 2015 by an average increase of 8.6 percent,” said LCAR president Lynn Zimmerman. “While on the national front sales are showing some signs of struggle, our local market continues strong with homes selling very quickly and at a healthy price appreciation of 3.1 percent year-to-date.”
