In the monthly press release that was recently published by the Lancaster County Association of Realtors (LCAR), we learned that the market saw the highest October home sales this year since 2006. Here are some highlights of the press release:
- October 2015 saw 522 homes sold – an 11.1% increase from 2014!
- Average sales price in October 2015 was $196,041 – a 4.5% increase from October 2014.
- There were 734 new listings in October 2-15
- Over 60% of homes that sold in October were on the market for 60 days or less
“For the first 10 months of the year, we saw a very healthy and encouraging 13.6 increase in sales compared to the same period of 2014,” said LCAR president Jeff Peters. “The last time we saw October sales top the 500 mark was in 2006 when 529 homes sold, and I think that gives a good snapshot of how far the real estate market has rebounded.”
