Each month we provide you with the latest on the Lancaster County real estate market, as provided by the Lancaster County Association of Realtors (LCAR). Here’s a snapshot of this month’s reporting, based on their latest press release:
- May 2016 saw 547 homes sold, a 9.8% increase from last year
- The average sales price in May 2016 was up 5.6% from May of 2015
- 833 new listings in May 2016
- 638 homes went under contract in May 2016, a 9.1% increase from 2015
- Over 69% of homes sold in May were on the market 60 days or less
“Homes are selling at a very rapid pace right now due in part to the continuing tight inventory during the most active selling season of the year,” said LCAR president Lynn Zimmerman. “For someone wishing to sell their home, now is truly an ideal time . . . especially with nearly 70 percent of all homes selling in two months or less and multiple offers being very common place.”
