Homes are Still Selling

In-person real estate activities remain prohibited in Pennsylvania. Although the state has begun to reopen, Lancaster County is currently in the red category, and therefore restrictions on real estate remain.

However, real estate agents, buyers, and sellers alike are taking advantage of technology and getting creative! Homes are shown via Zoom and FaceTime. Realtors are hosting Virtual Open Houses. Agreements are being negotiated over the phone and signed electronically by all parties.

Bottom line: homes are still selling!

AND homes are still receiving multiple offers.

Here are a few stories from our team alone, that have happened during this quarantine:

  • One of our agents showed a home via Zoom thanks to the home owner, the buyer made an offer and it was just one of multiple offers the seller received! Our buyer’s offer was accepted.
  • We listed a home in Manheim Township, buyers saw the home via Zoom. We received 6 offers! The sellers accepted an offer over full asking price, just 5 days after the list date.
  • We listed a home in Millersville and within 9 days of listing, sellers received and accepted a cash offer with a quick settlement.
  • We listed a home in Lititz that went under contract in just 6 days, without the buyer seeing anything more than photos!

These are just 4 stories of many from our team, and certainly throughout Lancaster.

Certainly, a real estate transaction looks different right now, but the great thing is that they are still possible and happening! If you’re thinking of buying or selling, you definitely have options.
